Black Diamond is located in Lecanto, Florida. It represents one of the most unique and the most exclusive communities in Citrus County Florida.

Developed by Stan Olsen, Black Diamond embodies what many have called the finest golf community in the state of Florida, due in large part to the world famous Black Diamond Quarry Golf Course.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Stan Olsen set out to create the best golf course imaginable. He started with an abandoned limestone quarry, added a premier golf community around it, and never looked back. The homes at Black Diamond are situated differently from most other golf course communities. The homes at Black Diamond do not intrude on the golf course, instead they meld seamlessly into the scenery and landscaping. Large ancient oak trees surround the area like sentinel guardians as well as aromatic pine forests. The homes at Black Diamond also offer more privacy than most communities.

Situated very close to the Gulf of Mexico, and with an abundance of sunshine, Black Diamond is well suited for active Florida living including year round golf. Black Diamond offers a lifestyle many are looking for, an escape from the fast pace of city life, yet quick access to the conveniences of large metropolitan areas like Tampa, Orlando, Gainesville and Ocala Florida. Completed in 1987 the Black Diamond community continues to amaze its visitors and residents.

There are three outstanding golf courses within the Black Diamond community. The Quarry Course is unforgettable and will leave the most seasoned golfer awe struck. Consistently rated among the world’s top golf courses in the nation, the Quarry Course plays right up to the edge of a limestone quarry and then plays straight down into the depths with amazing views of the 80 foot cliff walls.

Dan Jenkins, of Golf Digest has been quoted as saying that "Black Diamond's Quarry holes are the five best consecutive holes of golf in the world." Much of the credit must go to famous golf course architect Tom Fazio.

Next the Ranch golf course at Black Diamond, also an 18-hole golf course, is characterized by rolling hills, misty meadows, mossy oaks and pines as well as lakes and numerous sand traps. The newest addition to these two fine golf courses is the newly completed Highlands golf course at Black Diamond. The Highlands golf course sits atop the highest elevation in Black Diamond. On a clear day the 9-hole Highlands golf course offers breathtaking twenty-five mile views from the lush fairways.
